A stunning 18 hole course nestling in the Cambridgeshire countryside, just outside Peterborough

This outstanding golf course was designed by Roger Fitton and opened in April 1993. It is constructed to the highest of standards and USGA specification greens, thus providing an excellent playing surface throughout the year.

'Elton Furze' takes its' name from the green prickly bush with yellow flowers, which grows in abundance in our ancient woodland around the course, the 'Ulex Europaeus' better known as forse or furze.

The course provides 18 holes designed as two loops of 9 and plays in and around some 20 acres of mature woodland. With the natural contours of the landscape, as well as individual mature trees, the siting of several lakes and water courses Elton Furze offers an attractive setting and a course to challenge all levels of golfer.

Take the 7th hole for example, this testing 432 yard hole requires excellent skill and judgement to avoid a range of obstacles including ditches, bunkers and a slanting tree across the fairway, With a raised green some 15 feet above, set amongst beautiful mature oak and ash trees, nothing gives a golfer greater satisfaction than sinking the ball on one of the best par 4’s in the county.

In terms of distance the 11th hole is a 527 yard hole par 5 with a beautiful long fairway inviting the long drive, with a few twists, turns and bunkers closer to the green, it is a hole for the “thinking golfer”.
